Fiddle of gold against your soul tells I’m better: Liar || Jeremy&Klaus

herald-ofnew-age:

It had been hours since he mourned over the daggered body of his sister; he spared no time on saying goodbye’s for he wanted to get it done easiest and fastest way possible. His…

It was obvious that there was tension between the two men standing in the graveyard, merely a few feet apart. It was a frisky Saturday morning, the sun was hiding behind gray clouds overhead. His hand slapped against his leg after he took the keys into his hands, his index finger running over the ridges of each key. Olivia looked frightened and nervous, as if she’d seen a horrific sight. No child should be in an eerie cemetery, which just brought more suspicion to Jeremy’s thoughts. Why were they here? He cocked a brow as Klaus began explaining, his threats and words falling frozen in his mind one by one as he continued. They looked at each other as if they were in a duel, a word being a gun shot towards the other. Swallowing slightly, his eyes widened as he reveal the shocking secret, explaining why they were really here. At first, his eyes filled with rage, his blood started to boil as he tried to find it in his own mind why he’d do such a thing. He understood that Klaus despised betrayal, but wasn’t it enough? His eyes trailed over each word in her letter to him, his head shaking as he finished. In words, Jeremy was just furious. Not only angry at Klaus, but at Rebekah. He’d given her to Klaus with no hesitation, because he knew she’d be happiest with him. It was Klaus whom she loved more than anyone else. “Klaus,” he said firmly, his eyes narrowing at the hybrid before him. “How can you do this to her? You realize that you daggering her will only break her heart more? It was you who she chose, not me. It’s always been you, all along. It doesn’t take an idiot to see that,” he took a sharp breath, beginning again before Klaus could get a word in. “Whether you daggered her or not, she could never hate you. Hell, if you daggered her now and apologized, she’d run into your arms with no hesitation. I love Rebekah, I always will, but I know who she’s happy with and it’s you. Not me, you. I’m not doing shit, I’m not undaggering her, or taking care of her. It’s you who has to do that. You need to get it through your thick skull that in the end, it will always be you and Rebekah.” Admitting it to himself was hard and letting her go was harder, but in order for Rebekah to be happy, it’s Klaus who is supposed to spend the rest of eternity with. Jeremy could tell each time he looked into her eyes, that her heart desired Klaus all along. “I see the way she looks at you, and I know that when I look into her eyes, she sees someone else. She sees you and she loves you. Don’t you get it, Klaus? It’s you.”

Fiddle of gold against your soul tells I'm better: Liar || Jeremy&Klaus

herald-ofnew-age:

It had been hours since he mourned over the daggered body of his sister; he spared no time on saying goodbye’s for he wanted to get it done easiest and fastest way possible. His eyes were firmly settled onto the road before him; Olivia sat on the seat right next to him and Rebekah laid daggered in…

Jeremy had already said his goodbyes to Rebekah, spent the night drinking himself, numbing the pain that only increased with every drop of hard liquor to fell onto his tongue. He had admitted to himself that it was finally over between him and Rebekah, though accepting it would take a while. Rebekah made her choice and he understood why. To Rebekah, it had always been Klaus. From the very beginning, it was Klaus who her heart’s target was set on. Finally saying it to himself as his head pounded with the alcohol burning in his stomach. He thought the pain was finally numbed to the point where it wouldn’t come back, but it hit him hard when Jeremy’s phone buzzed in his pocket, shining a light through his jeans and causing his eyes to squint. He had been in such a prolonged period of darkness, the light had burned his eyes and hurt to the equivalent if he took off his ring while he was passing through the equator. Klaus had told him to meet him at the graveyard and since it was about Rebekah, he complied.

Staring at the tombstones of his parents, he let out a sigh, pointing two flowers up to the sky and then setting them down on the tattered soil, fresh new grass growing. It had almost been a year since their death, which only caused even more pain. A car engine from the distance growled lowly, increasing in noise. Jeremy turned around, the cold air becoming warm on his face once again. Klaus stepped out, making his way towards him, his face frozen and Olivia hanging off his neck. Jeremy gestured a nod to his thank you, his feelings towards Klaus still angry yet respected. “Why did you call me here, Klaus?” he exhaled slowly, his breath visible as he took the keys into his hands, refusing to move an inch until Klaus told him why they were there.
